Stephen Colbert to Run for President

NEW YORK (AP) — Stephen Colbert announced his candidacy for president on "The Colbert Report" on Tuesday night, tossing his satirical hat into the ring of an already crowded race.

"I shall seek the office of the President of the United States," announced Colbert on his Comedy Central show, as red, white and blue balloons fell around him.

Colbert had recently satirized the coyness of would-be presidential candidates by refusing to disclose whether he would seek the country's highest office — a refusal that often came without any prompting.

Shortly before making the announcement, Colbert appeared on "The Daily Show" (the show which spawned Colbert's spin-off) and played cagy, claiming he was only ready to consider a White House bid. He entered the studio set pulled by a bicycle pedaled by Uncle Sam and quickly pulled out a bale of hay and a bottle of beer to show that he was "an Average Joe."

Colbert said his final decision would be announced on a "more prestigeous show," which turned out to be his own.

"After nearly 15 minutes of soul-searching, I have heard the call," said Colbert.

Hello, stranger...

I'm so bored today. I know I don't really post here but I was invited to a group and well, my blog just looked so sad and empty, y'know?

Anyway, a quick update on what's currently occupying my time:

I'm saving up extra money here and there to get a DNA test done at DNA Tribes and I'm nearly at my goal, with the help of some well thought out eBay sales. I have certain reasons for wanting this done that my close friends know about. It should be interesting, I am thinking.
I'm contemplating cutting my hair and giving away over 10 inches of it to Locks Of Love. My hair has been annoying me for a while because it's almost to the point where I can sit on it. If my hair were not wavy/curly I'd definitely be sitting on it right now because when it's wet this is possible.
Karaoke Revolution and Singstar games are truly evil. That is all I need to say about this subject.
Houston is starting to get warm again during the day and I'm not digging that. I liked the 40 and 50 degree days!
I've been spinning The Fratellis for several weeks now and there seems to be no stopping me. Oh, and did anyone else know The Stranglers had a new album called "Suite XVI" out in '06? I feel so bad just finding out because I could have been enjoying it for a few months now. Dammit! "Norfolk Coast" held me for all this time, admirably, but I am definitely loving the new material.
New Doctor Who at the end of the month... I am super psyched! Couple this with the new Life On Mars episodes and I am in television heaven.
I have a new domain, surlysushi.com. If you want an email address there, let me know! It's Gmail for now, but gussied up with angry seafood. It's fun. Once I get real hosting, I'll do more stuff with it. Hopefully that'll be soonish, but one never knows.
I updated some videos and audio here. Look to the right for that. I am guessing you've already heard of all these TV shows and bands already but again, who knows?

I can't think of much else right now, but I'm sure there's stuff I've not mentioned, probably some of it on purpose. Anyway, you know where to find me if you want more pointless daily updates.
